A New Buddy

I had a doggie play date with my new friend Chloe the other day. It was so fun! I ran, barked, chewed sticks, tumbled, and played for an hour with her. She is a pretty Cocker Spaniel and she has the BEST back yard. My back yard is all dirt and no grass. Chloe's back yard is lots of grass and fenced in so we could run FREE! I can't wait until I get to go there again someday!

Rain, rain go away! NO STAY!

It is my first rainy day at my new home. Mom was saying that she wasn't sure if I'd like the rain or not and was curious to see if I would go potty outside in the rain. If I could speak human I would say to her "ARE YOU NUTS!? I'M A WATER DOG! Of COURSE I'll like the rain!" When we went outside for my morning potty I was in water dog heaven!!! Muddy puddles, tons of water to drink, and a whole strip of puddle to run through. Wet leaves and sticks to chew and wet grass to lick! I did not want to come inside today. Mom doesn't particularly love standing out in the rain while I frolick through the puddles so she said we'll probably play inside a lot today. I heard I will be taking something called a bath later tonight before bed. I'm curious to see what a "bath" is. I think I may have taken one when I was with Karen and Gene, but I'm not really sure. So here is what I am going to do on this rainy day!

I'm going to chew whatever I can find...

I'm going to play outside and get wet as much as possible...

And I'm going to do my favorite activity...

Evil Doorstop

This doorstop has been getting on my nerves ever since I moved in. Today was the day I attacked it. The dog walker came today for the first time and I even showed her how much that doorstop and I annoy each other. Grrr...I'm gonna get it when my Mom isn't watching. She keeps yelling NO at me every time I go by it. I wonder why?

I Have Friends!!!!

Every day just keeps getting better and better!!! Tonight Katie the Bearded Collie from up the street stopped by to see me. They heard I came home on Monday and wanted to see if I was doing okay. I was sleeping under the table and didn't really want to wake up (Mommy and Daddy walked me REALLY far today). I sure am glad I woke up because Katie is AWESOME! She is huge!! All of the humans kept saying soon I will be bigger than her...that is hard to believe because I am so small. Mommy thought I'd be scared of Katie because she is so outgoing, but I sure held my own playing with her. THEN Coca Bear the half rat terrier half black lab came over and played too! She wasn't as energetic as Katie, but she sure was nice! I met her last night (Dad didn't have the camera so there aren't any pictures). Here are some pics of my on-the-whim doggie play date!

Best Day...EVER!!!

OMG! Today was the best day of my LIFE!!! I played all day with my Daddy and then Mommy came home from work and let me nap for a bit and then the FUN began.

I went on my FIRST LONG WALK! Wow was I going. Mom and Dad weren't sure how far I would make it, but I surprised them and went super far!

Then the best part was we went to this thing called a lake! It was HUGE and had tons of water!! I will let you see all my beautiful pictures instead of hearing me babble on about this amazing adventure. Enjoy!

We met this thing called "Fred" he apparently is a cat. I wasn't so sure about him.

Actually...I was afraid of him. I stayed far away.

After we saw Fred, Mommy took over the leash. She is very strict with me on the leash. I am not allowed to pull and run ahead with her. She's teaching Daddy about not letting me pull, too. He's catching on...NOT GOOD.

Mom wanted me to go in...I put a few paws in, but I don't think I'm ready to swim yet. I'm interested though...maybe next week.

I'm done. Mom, stop splashing me and let me chill by the water...geeze. I'm a water dog you know? I'll go swimming when I'm ready!

I Practice Summoning the Spirits

What did you all do today?

Today I...

And...

Because all night last night I was summoning spirits with my very loud whines, yips, and barks! I think Mommy and Daddy are pretty tired today...but we played outside for 2 hours and had some friends come to visit!

Only a few accidents today...I'm trying hard, but when the urge comes it comes. I have discovered that when I am done being outside all I have to do is walk and stand in front of the back door to be let in. Sometimes I go to the door when I am being stubborn and don't want to go potty. I just really love sleeping on the cold tile floor!

I do not like my crate too much yet, but I am getting better at going in and going to sleep when I am inside. I don't quite like to play with my toys inside yet, but I am sure someday it will be alright. I would just rather be with my Mom and Dad playing in the living room!

p.s. I am going to try harder to keep the spirits at bay tonight while Mom and Dad sleep!

I'm Finally Home!!!

I arrived at my new home yesterday!! I was sad to leave my dog mom and Karen and Gene, but I think I am really going to like where I live. The ride home from North Carolina to Georgia was not very good. It was my first time in the car and I got a little sick during the first hours. Eventually I just decided sleeping would be the best for me. I cried a lot in hopes that my new mom and dad would let me out of the crate, but that didn't work.

When I got home we played outside for a bit and then I got to go inside and explore my new house. I also ate my first dinner at home and I scarfed it down. Boy was it yummy after a long day of traveling. The water was the best part because I think I was a little dehydrated from my ride home. After dinner I christened my new yard and mommy happily cleaned up after me. She's the best! I was introduced to my new favorite toy - my rope! It is so fun to chew and pull and I just love the colors...not to girly.

Mommy thought I was going to cry all night, but I did a GREAT job! I yipped for the first 10 minutes or so and realized that no one was going to come and get me so I just went to sleep. Daddy came in the middle of the night to let me out and when he put me back in I only cried for 5 minutes this time! I still really don't like being in my crate and I think mom and dad are anxious for me to be able to go in there just to hang out. Right now I'd rather sleep underneath the kitchen table and the chairs for the island.

Daddy gets to stay home with me all day while mom is at work and he is super fun. He likes to play with me and I like to cuddle up underneath his feet while he works on the computer. My new family is great and I can't wait to see all the fun stuff that we get to do!
